Our First Stop


This was Roll Call's visit to Arlington National Cemetery in 2011, and the stone

over the crew of 60528, the C-130 shot down by Russian Fighters over the skies

of Armenia in 1958. Again,this year, this will be our first stop

where we will again leave flowers and hold a brief memorial ceremony.

Then on the the White House


then the Capital


Then, on the the Vietnam Wall, Washington Monument and

other sites, along with a stop for lunch together

Viet Nam Era Veterans Recognition


Members will also brief the audience on subjects of interest



Charlie Ballew starts the program with the story of what it was like to be afloat on the USNS Vandenberg,

and the USNS Arnold.


Earlier in the day, many in the group will have visited the grave stone of the crew

of this doomed reconnaissance aircraft, taken from the skies by Soviet pilots.


This discussion will be presented by Brad Whipple.

As I write this, we are finalizing plans for our guest speakers.

We will assemble and be addressed by a General Officer from 25th AF, the successor of our former command. We do not yet have a synopsis of his address, but he will be telling us what the men and women who replaced us are doing, and what its like for them

Colonel Roman graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in 1979 and spent 23 years in the military as an Air Force Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance officer.  He served in various operational and staff assignments before retiring from the Air Force as a Colonel.
